The Australian Freshwater Masters wrap up for another year
Posted on 12th March 2018
One of Australia’s largest inland fishing comps wrapped up recently, with The Australian Freshwater Masters (TAFM) crowning its overall winners at the third and final leg at Lake Mulwala over the weekend of 10-11 February 2018.
Entrants competed across three legs at three different locations with the first, golden perch leg taking place at Windamere dam in November last year, followed by the second, bass leg the following weekend. The final leg saw the competitors travel to Lake Mulwala to target the mighty Murray Cod and attempt to snatch some last minute points for the board.
Suzuki Marine was proud to sponsor the event again for the third year running, and according to Matt Cunneen, event organiser, it was one of the closest finishes in the competition’s 19-year history.
“It was a great tournament this year. Suzuki Marine has really stamped its support for the tournament”, said Matt.
“We could not be more supportive of the team at Suzuki [Marine], as without the support being offered, it would not have allowed the tournament to grow as strong as it has. Thank you Suzuki [Marine] Australia”, Matt said.
Congratulations to Team Venom who took out the overall team title, and Stephen Booth who finished in first place in the individual competition. The top three competitors for each category are below.
